One of the standout venues is the Esplanade des Invalides, a large space outside the Hotel des Invalides that is hosting the archery events. The Hotel des Invalides has a history dating back over 300 years, originally served as a military hospital for wounded and retired soldiers. Today, the complex includes French military history museums and monuments, as well as the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. Watching athletes draw their bows and release arrows that arc through the air against the backdrop of the ancient buildings is a sight to behold.

Similarly, the shooting hall for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, nestled in the picturesque foothills of Beijing's western mountains, was a marvel of architectural design. The extraordinary two-story venue features innovative lighting, vibration resistance, noise reduction, and spatial design. Its exterior is covered in brown, wood-like stripes. This design element not only served an aesthetic purpose, but also symbolized the sport's origins in forest hunting. As its architect from Tsinghua University put it, the stripes represented a forest and were cleverly used to provide shade inside the venue.
